New Britain, CT - The Wagner women's cross country team placed sixth out of 13 teams at the 5K Ted Owen Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park while getting a preview of the 2014 Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship course.
Boston U won the team title with 33 points while the Terriers' Rosa Moriello claimed the individual championship with a time of 16:59.61.
Sophomore
Nicole Bell (Branchville, NJ / Sussex County Technical) finished 17th, including 11th among league performers, in a team-best 18:36.07 with junior
Lorraine Brancale (Staten Island, NY / NYU) the next Seahawk finisher in 28th (19:22.10).
Senior
Victoria Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) finished 36th in 19:38.56 with freshman
Maria Scalici (Staten Island, NY / Susan E. Wagner) placing 47th with a mark of 20:10.28 in her collegiate debut. Senior
Heather Wolf (Pine Brook, NJ / Montville Township) rounded out the scorers in 58th (20:25.40).
Wagner returns to action on Friday, October 10 at the 5K METS Championship in the Bronx.
