Results

Staten Island, NY -
Wagner swept all three doubles matches while winning five of the six singles match-ups en route to posting a 6-1 victory over Saint Peter's at the Wagner Tennis Courts.

The win was the first career victory for first-year head coach Adrienn Hidvegi as the Seahawks improve to 1-1 on the season while the Peacocks fall to 0-1.

Wagner notched the first point of the match thanks to taking all three doubles matches. Junior Marina Rull Valvieso (Barcelona, Spain / Tarleton State) and sophomore Madison Pautsch (Costa Mesa, CA / Edison) posted a dominating 8-0 victory at No. 2 while sophomore Sarah Dionisio (East Yaphank, NY / Longwood) and freshman Samantha Hodges (Encinitas, CA / San Dieguito Academy) cruised to an easy 8-1 win at No. 1. The Seahawks completed the doubles sweep with a default victory at No. 3.

In singles play, Rull Valvieso posted a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 while Dionisio was victorious by a 6-4, 6-0 count at No. 3. Jurgielewicz also won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 while Pautsch grinded out a hard-fought 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 victory at No. 4. The Green & White also won at No. 6 by default.
