Women’s Basketball: A Closer Look At The Seahawks’ Three Incoming Freshmen

filled three important needs, and continues to rebuild Wagner in her third year. Size, shooting and depth were the Seahawks' biggest issues last year - problem solved. Wagner's starting lineup last year included only one player over 5-9, but size will not be a problem next year. Sofia Roma, a 6-2 athletic post player, comes from one of NYC's top programs in Nazareth Regional, and will have an immediate impact. Samantha Sullivan, at 6-1, is a proven winner, having played in two NJ Tournament of Champion Championships as a starter at Manasquan HS. The gem of the class may be 5-8 Tanasia Russell, one of the state's top scorers, whose jumping ability has earned her the nickname "Pogo." Russell has three-point range, and a picture perfect jumper that will be tough to stop in the NEC."
