West Windsor, NJ - No. 8 Wagner shut out No. 9 St. Francis Brooklyn 4-0 in a Northeast Conference (NEC) outbracket match at the Mercer County Tennis Center.
The Seahawks improve to 6-9 and will now face top seed Fairleigh Dickinson in quarterfinal action at 3:00 pm while the Terriers see their season end with a 0-10 record.
In doubles play, the Green & White captured the first point with a pair of quick victories. Freshman
Madison Pautsch (Costa Mesa, CA / Edison) and junior
Kari Rezac (Wichita, KS / Maze) posted an 8-0 victory at No. 2 while junior
Rachel Jurgielewicz (Downingtown, PA / Downingtown East) and sophomore
Jenna Harris (Fountain Hills, AZ / Fountain Hills) also combined for an 8-0 blanking at No. 3.
During singles play, Pautsch (No. 2), Rezac (No. 5) and Lessard (No. 6) clinched the win with straight-set 6-0, 6-0 victories.
