Baltimore, MD - The Wagner women's tennis team evened its record at 4-4 with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Coppin State in non-conference action.
In doubles play, the freshmen duo of
Sarah Dionisio (East Yaphank, NY / Longwood) and
Cassidy Lessard (Jamesport, NY / McGann-Mercy) posted an 8-4 win at No. 1 while sophomore
Jenna Harris (Fountain Hills, AZ / Fountain Hills) and junior
Rachel Jurgielewicz (Downingtown, PA / Downingtown East) combined to post an 8-2 victory in securing the first point of the match for the Seahawks.
In singles play, Dionisio completed a victorious morning with an easy 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1. Freshman
Madison Pautsch (Costa Mesa, CA / Edison) also earned a straight set 6-4, 6-1 victory at second singles. Jurgielewicz rounded out the winners for the Seahawks with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 3.
Wagner returns to action tomorrow at Howard with first serve slated for 11:00 am.
