Moon Township, PA- The Wagner women's soccer team earned its first Northeast Conference (NEC) victory of the season by blanking Robert Morris 1-0 on the road this afternoon.

Senior forward Alyssa Azzinaro (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) converted a Colonial miscue into the game's only goal when the ball was poorly cleared in the box and she was able to turn back towards the goal and deposit the shot inside the left post. Fifth-year senior goalkeeper Katie Marcy (Bellmore, NY / John F. Kennedy) made sure the goal stood up as she recorded five saves in posting her fourth shutout of the season.

With the win, the Seahawks saw their season record improve to 5-6-1, while evening their NEC mark at 1-1. The Colonials, meanwhile,  fall to 2-9-2 overall and are now 0-1-1 in league play.

"This game was crucial for us to win on the road against an NEC opponent," said assistant coach Jenifer Anzivino. "The team really deserves all the credit for the win because they were able to stay focused and determined throughout the entire game."

Wagner was able to come away with the victory despite being outshot by a 15-10 count.

The Green & White will return to action Friday, October 10 when they begina three-game home stretch vs. Mount St. Mary's at Hameline Field in a 7:00 p.m. start.
