Results

Staten Island, NY -
The Wagner women's tennis team topped Saint Peter's in a battle of unbeatens by a 4-3 count at the Wagner Tennis Courts.

The Seahawks captured the doubles point and three of the six singles matches to move to a perfect 3-0 on the year while the Peacocks fall to 2-1.

In doubles action, freshmen Sarah Dionisio (East Yaphank, NY / Longwood) and Madison Pautsch (Costa Mesa, CA / Edison) won at No. 2 doubles by an 8-4 count while staying unbeaten at 3-0 as a tandem. Wagner took No. 3 by default to secure the first point of the match.

Dionisio also stayed unbeaten in singles action by virtue of a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 2. After dropping the first set 6-3, junior Rachel Jurgielewicz (Downingtown, PA / Downingtown East) stormed back to win the next two sets by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Those two victories coupled with the Seahawks' victory by default at No. 6 secured the match for the Green & White.

Wagner looks to stay unbeaten when the Seahawks take to the court at Lafayette.
