Teaneck, NJ – The Wagner women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw against Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU)  Sunday afternoon. The match, which saw  the Seahawks and the Knights battle through two overtime periods, marks the second tie this season for both Wagner, who improves to 8-4-2 overall, and 1-2-1 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play, and FDU, who is now 6-6-2 on the season and 2-0-1 in conference play.

Goalkeeper Katie Marcy proved instrumental in today's contest, saving a total of seven shots on goal throughout all 110:00 minutes of play, including two saves in the first overtime period and one save in the second. Though FDU outshot Wagner 13-10, The Green & White's defense was solid in the face of the Knights' offensive attacks.

Sophomore Alyssa Willard had Wagner's first shot on goal, receiving a pass from fellow sophomore Samantha Jensen in the eighth minute of play. Willard's shot was handled by FDU goalkeeper Sage DoVale. Wagner had another opportunity to score, when sophomore Johanna Konrad found junior Sydney McCarthy in the 85th minute of play, though McCarthy's shot was saved on the line. Wagner was unable to produce another shot before the end of the 110:00 minute match.

The Green & White return to action when they host the Blackbirds of LIU Brooklyn at Hameline Field on Friday, October 18th, for a 7:00 p.m. match under the lights.
