Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's soccer team travels to Teaneck, NJ for a 1:00 pm match against Fairleigh Dickinson for their fourth Northeast Conference (NEC) match of the season. Wagner is currently 8-4-1 on the season, and 1-2-0 in NEC play. Fairleigh Dickinson is 6-6-1 on the season, and 2-0-0 in NEC play.
Throughout this past season, Wagner has continued to amass new benchmarks for the program. This year's squad earned the most non-conference wins since the team's inception in 1998. Leading the way in both points (12), and goals (6), is sophomore
Samantha Jensen, who recently had a four-goal weekend performance with games against Sacred Heart (10/4) and Saint Francis U (10/6). Close behind is junior
Sydney McCarthy, who has earned 10 points and four goals. McCarthy is also credited with three game-winning goals.
Sophomore
Siara Kolpon leads the squads with assists (4), with freshmen
Megan Fritz and
Sydney McNutt following with three assists each. Three freshmen have tallied their first collegiate goals, including
Gabrielle Davis and
Amanda Buck, as well as Fritz, who totals three goals on the season.
Goalkeeper
Katie Marcy has earned a save percentage of .761 in 14 games played, owning an overall record of 8-5-1. Marcy has a total of 67 saves on the year.
Wagner has 27 goals so far this season, and has outshot their opponents with a combined 217-167.
