Bivona Leads Wagner At The Ted Owen Invitational

Junior Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) turned in another outstanding race at the 5K Ted Owen Invitational, leading Wagner to a sixth-place earlier this morning.

Bivona was the third Northeast Conference (NEC) harrier to cross the line, taking ninth with a time of 18:17.77.

Freshman Danielle Iacampo (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) turned in her finest performance to date as a Seahawk, finishing 23rd with a time of 19:16.51.

Placing third on the team and 26th overall in 19:22.41 was senior Kelly Dennis (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa).

Sophomore Heather Wolf (Pine Brook, NJ / Montville Township) took 31st in 19:33.14, with junior Samantha Lauro (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) crossing the line with a time of 19:43.25 in 40th place.

Marist won the team title with 35 points, while Bentley's Tara Dooley claimed the individual championship with a mark of 17:36. Central Connecticut (83) was second followed by Hartford (116), UConn (120), Bentley (121), Wagner (124), Rhode Island (171), Northeastern (177), Southern Connecticut State (201), Fairleigh Dickinson (309) and Franklin Pierce (318).

The Seahawks return to action on Friday, October 5 with their participation in the METS Championships at Van Cortland Park.
