Wagner To Play Monmouth In NEC Tournament Action On Friday

No. 9 Wagner women's tennis team will open up the 2012 Northeast Conference (NEC) Tennis Tournament with a 9:00 am match against No. 8  on Friday, April 20 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, NJ.  The event will be contested over three days in a partial consolation format.

The Seahawks enter the tournament with a record of 2-14 (2-4 NEC) and picked up their second win of the year over St. Francis (NY) by a 6-1 score on Saturday, April 14. In that match, freshman Rachel Jurgielewicz (Downingtown, PA / Downingtown East), junior Nikki Arnold (Bethlehem, PA / Liberty), freshman Lauren Hauer (North Attleboro, MA / North Attleboro), freshman Julie Teichman (Plymouth Meeting, PA / Germantown Academy) and junior Catharine Scavelli (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph Hill) all collected wins during singles' play. The Green & White also collected the doubles' point with Arnold and Hauer winning at No. 1, Jurgielewicz and Teichman at No. 2 and junior Aurora Brennan (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) and freshman Kari Rezac (Wichita, KS / Maize) at No. 3.
