Jacksonville, FL - Senior RHP Ryan Van Spronsen (Brantford, Ontario / Assumption College) was recognized in Eric Sorenson's national College Baseball Today Blog for his remarkable start to the season.

Wagner RHP Ryan Van Spronsen spun a huge gem for the Seahawks today, shutting down a potent Jacksonville lineup in a 4-1 win. Van Spronsen threw a complete-game on 98 pitches and struck out a career-high nine batters while also holding the Dolphins to just four hits. In building up his 2-0 record so far this season Van Spronsen has beaten J'Ville and Charlotte in back-to-back weekends, both of whom were NCAA tournament participants last season, while also pitching five innings of one-hit ball vs. Hawaii in their opening weekend.

On the year, the Canadian native is 2-0 with 13 strikeouts and has limited the opposition to a .194 average over 22.0 innings while posting a miniscule 2.05 ERA.
