HAMELINE NAMED NEC COACH OF THE YEAR, EIGHT SEAHAWKS TABBED ALL-NEC
On Wednesay, Four days after leading Wagner to its eighth straight win and first-ever Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship, head coach
Walt Hameline has been named NEC Coach of the Year, it was announced today by the league office while three Seahawks were named to the All-NEC First Team and another five tabbed to the league's Second Team. Earlier this week, Hameline was named one of 20 finalists for the prestigious Eddie Robinson Award which, since 1987, has been given annually to college football's top head coach in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The award is named for Eddie Robinson, the College Football Hall of Fame coach, who retired in 1997 after 56 years at Grambling State University. Wagner's eight All-NEC selections, along with Duquesne, were tied for second-most in the league behind Albany who led with nine recipients. All honorees were determined by a vote of the conference's nine head coaches. Seahawks who earned First-Team All-NEC honors were senior QB
Nick Doscher (Staten Island, NY/ Moore Catholic), who was also the league's top QB as a freshman in 2009, junior RB
Dominique Williams (Bridgeton, NJ /Milford Academy) picked up First-Team honor, who was named the league's Rookie of the Year in 2009, and fifth-year OL
Steve Ciocci (Royersford, PA/ Spring-Ford/ Temple). Two former high school teammates who reunited in Staten Island were also named to the All-NEC First Team in sophomore cornerback
Jarrett Dieudonne (Fort Lauderdale, FL/Dillard/ Purdue) and sophomore return specialist
Otis Wright (Fort Lauderdale, FL/ Dillard). Earning All-NEC Second-Team honors were senior LB
C.O. Prime (Laval, Quebec/The Kent School), senior CB
Torian Phillips (Staten Island, NY/ Port Richmond/ Syracuse) and senior SS #Sidiq# Soulemana (Bronx, NY/DeWitt Clinton/ Hudson Valley CC).
SEAHAWKS RECEIVING VOTES IN BOTH MAJOR POLLS
Wagner's winning ways, highlighted by the eye-opening 30-0 victory at No. 18 Albany on November 3, an eight-game winning streak and the school's first-ever NEC Title are being noticed by many influential people involved in college football, including conference and collegiate officials who comprise The Sports Network Top-25 Poll as well as the coaches who vote in the NCAA Football FCS Coaches Poll. The Seahawks have overcome challenges that include an 0-3 start, and a campus without electricity or hot water leading up to the Albany game due to Hurricane Sandy. Despite these obstacles, the Seahawks are ranked 33rd nationally on both polls, The Sports Network Top-25 Poll with 33 votes and the FCS Coaches Poll with 10 votes.

WAGNER JUST ONE TURNOVER IN LAST EIGHT GAMES
Against Holy Cross on Nov. 10, Wagner's remarkable string of games without a turnover ended at six on a fumble by QB
Nick Doscher with 9:02 left in the third quarter. The last turnover committed by the Green & White prior to this was way back on September 15 vs. Monmouth with 8:27 left in the fourth quarter when the Hawks picked off a pass thrown by junior QB
Kramer Berg. The 38-17 loss to Monmouth put Wagner in a 0-3 hole to start the season. Wagner righted the ship in week four with a win at Central Connecticut (31-13) and it's been off the races ever since for the Seahawks. Wagner got right back on the beam in the NEC Title-Clinching win over Duquesne on Nov. 17, playing turnover-free football.
DOSCHER 191 STRAIGHT PASSES WITHOUT AN INTERCEPTION
Equally remarkable, senior QB
Nick Doscher (Staten Island, NY/ Moore Catholic) has now thrown 191 passes without an interception as he played his ninth consecutive interception-free game against Holy Cross. The 191 straight passes without an interception has spanned 10.5 games (237consecutive quarters). Incredibly, Doscher has not thrown an interception since the season opener at Florida Atlantic on August 31. With Wagner leading 3-0 in what would in an eventual 7-3 loss, Doscher was picked off in the end zone on a third-and-goal with 3:42 remaining in the first half against the Owls. It was his 10th pass attempt of the season.
DOSCHER'S NAME ALL OVER RECORD BOOK
Senior QB
Nick Doscher, who finished eight-of-17 passing for 106 yard, today, will enter the FCS Playoffs with 5,880 career passing yards, just 23 yards shy of surpassing John Sciarra (2004-05), who passed for 5,902 career yards. Doscher is second all-time in completions (433), TD passes (42) and is far and away the school's all-time leader in total offense with 8,049 yards. In addition, he moved into eighth place on the Seahawk all-time rushing list vs. Duquesne as he has now amassed 2,169 yards on the ground.
DOSCHER'S TOP PASSING DAYS

Nick Doscher set season highs in all passing categories when he completed 16-of-26 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns in the 31-21 win over Bryant. The 246-yard passing day vs. Bryant marked the 10th time the 6-1, 230-pound Doscher has thrown for 200 yards or more in a game. It was also the fourth-highest passing game of his career.

WILLIAMS ONE OF TOP RUSHERS IN SEAHAWK HISTORY
Junior RB
Dominique Williams remains in fifth place on the Seahawk all-time rushing list and is now up to 3,142 career yards, leaving him 15 yards away from passing Kito Lockwood for fourth place. Lockwood ran for 3,156 yards from 1992-1995. Having been held to 98 yards vs. Duquesne, Williams has now rushed for 100 or more yards in a game 19-of-30 times in his career.
WILLIAMS' SEPTEMBER HURDLE MAKES ESPN COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYS OF THE WEEKEND
The 29-yard fourth quarter run by junior running back
Dominique Williams (Bridgeton, NJ/ Bridgeton/ Milford Academy) during the Sept. 29, 31-21 win over Bryant, which was highlighted by his hurdling over a defender, made ESPN's College Football Plays of the Weekend, checking in at No. 10. Wagner was leading 24-21 late in the fourth quarter and had the ball near midfield when Williams delivered an extraordinary run that will keep Seahawk fans buzzing for quite some time. The play was highlighted by the explosive 5-9, 200-pound Williams leaping over a Bryant defender, before steam-rolling another would-be tackler. The highlight reel run gave the Green & White a first down at the Bryant 20. Two plays later, Doscher scampered his way for a 19-yard touchdown to put the Seahawks up 31-21 with less 90 seconds to play.
