Wagner Wins Father O'Neil Invitational Behind Bivona

Wagner took top honors at the 5K Father O'Neil Invitational as Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) repeated as the individual champion.

The Seahawks scored 40 points to outdistance Canisius (50), Fairfield (51), Siena (93), Molloy (160), Hartford (191), CCNY (192) and Bridgeport (225).

Bivona easily won her second career title by 17 seconds in posting an impressive mark of 18:50. Additionally, the Staten Island native bettered her winning mark from last year by 25 seconds.

Joining Bivona in the top 10 was the trio of junior Samantha Lauro (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa), freshman Danielle Iacampo (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) and senior Kelly Dennis (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa). Lauro finished seventh in 19:46, with Iacampo taking eighth with a mark of 19:58 and Dennis placed 10th in 20:00.

Senior Taylor Fredrickson (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) capped the title-winning performance for the Green & White, crossing the line 14th with a time of 20:08.

Wagner returns to action on Friday, October 19 at 3:30 pm with the 3K CCSU Mini-Meet.
