Box Score
Washington, D.C. – Behind senior Kaitlyn Llewellyn's (Island Lake, IL / Wauconda) second goal of the season, the Wagner College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw in tonight's non-conference matchup at Howard University.
Both teams battled through the opening half, with the Seahawks making the games first mark. Minutes after a Terryn Marette (Chevy Chase, MD / Chevy Chase) corner kick, Llewellyn notched her second goal in as many games, beating Howard goalkeeper Chanel Bell to give the Green & White a 1-0 lead.
The two teams combined for just three shots in the first 45 minutes, with Wagner having the 2-1 advantage, and earning two corner kicks.
The home team got on the board in the 55th minute when Owyn Mason slotted her shot past Wagner's Katie Marcy (Bellmore, NY / John F. Kennedy) to even the score at one apiece.
Wagner tallied six shots in the second stanza, but couldn't put anything past Howard's Kyra Dickinson, as the team's readied for their second overtime game of the season.
Marcy came up big for the Seahawks in the overtime session, making two big saves in the final 10 minutes to keep the game a 1-1 tie, giving each team a much deserved point.
The Seahawks will have a week off from competition before hosting the Leopards of Lafayette College on September 9, at Wagner Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
