QUICK HITS
* Today's game reunites Wagner head coach Dan Hurley and Penn's Zack Rosen. The Quakers' point guard played his final two years of prep ball at St. Benedict's Prep, helping the Gray Bees to the state prep title in 2007-2008 and No. 5 National Ranking as a junior in 2006-2007.

* Rosen is an early candidate for Ivy League Player of the Year and has been honored as the Ancient 8's Player of the Week in each of the season's first two weeks. He is averaging 22.8 points and 5.8 assists per game, against just 2.8 turnovers each time out.

* Tonight's game features two players in Rosen and Wagner senior Tyler Murray with near-identical offensive games. Rosen is shooting 59.3 percent (32-54) from the floor and 65.4 percent (17-26) from beyond the arc while Murray, who is averaging 14.3 ppg and 4.5 rpg is converting on 55.9 percent (19-34) from the floor and 64.7 percent (11-17) from long range.

* The Seahawks hit the road for the fourth time in their first five games with a game at Penn in the legendary Palestra.

* The Green & White will be looking for back-to-back wins on the road for the first time since the final two regular season games of the 2008-2009 season.

* Wagner also be looking for its first 4-1 start since the 2008-2009 season.
* This will be the first meeting between the teams.

* Penn, like Wagner, is 3-1 on the season and 14-1, all-time, against the Northeast Conference (NEC) after its recent 66-60 win over Robert Morris.

* This marks the fifth-straight game for the Seahawks that both teams enter with identical records.

* The Green & White recently snapped a five-game losing strak against Ivy League competition with a 73-57 victory at Princeton (11/12) in the season-opener for both teams.

* The last time Wagner won two games in a season against Ivy League competition was in 2008-2008 when the Seahawks defeated Yale and Brown.

* With a win, the Green & White would also win two road games against the Ivy League for just the third time ever.

* All-time, Wagner is 19-24 against the Ancient 8.

* Tonight's game also marks the fourth game of the season against a team that the Seahawks had not defeated coming into the year. Wagner collected its first-ever wins earlier at (11/12) and vs. NCCU (11/16) but could not topple #4 UConn (11/14).

* The Seahawks improved to 3-1 with a 76-70 win over Lafayette (11/19) while besting the Leopards for the second-straight year.

* The Green & White did not trail against Lafayette (11/19) after collecting a wire-to-wire victory over North Carolina Central (11/16) in the previous game.

* Wagner drained eight-straight free throws over the final 1:12 in its victory over the Leopards. Sophomore Latif Rivers made good on six-straight while classmate Kenneth Ortiz also converted a pair.

* Rivers led the Seahawks with 19 points, highlighted by going 7-for-8 from the line. Last year, he had a game-high 18 points - highlighted by the eventual winning three-point shot. Rivers has notched double-figures in scoring in all four games this year and 25 times in 34 career games.

* Wagner forced Lafayette (11/19) into 20 turnovers, leading to a 20-10 advantage in points off turnovers. The Seahawks have now forced 81 miscues (20.3/game) while turning the ball over just 54 times (14.0/game).

* Murray has also hit for double-figures all four times on the year and in 23-straight games since last season. Dating back to the 2009-2010 campaign, the senior guard has notched double-digits in scoring 39 times in his last 41 games.

* Murray is also shooting a team-best 64.7 percent (11-17) from long range and is first in school history with a 42.0 percent (126-300) conversion rate.

* Murray's 12-point effort give him 901 for his career, leaving the Canadian native just 99 short of becoming the 38th 1,000 point scorer in school-history and the 23rd since Wagner went Division I in the 1976-1977 season. He scored just 64 as a freshman and is the fourth leading scorer among active NEC players.

* The Canadian native also ranks second among all active NEC players with 233 assists and 10th with 297 rebounds. Addtionally, Murray has 10 career 20-point games.

* Sophomore Naofall Folahan and Ortiz each also recorded 10 points and five rebounds against Lafayette (11/16) while giving the Seahawks four double-digit scorers for the second-straight game. Folahan entered the game with just 17 points and 12 rebounds over his first three games.

* With the win over Lafayette (11/19), the Green & White improved to 3-5, all-time, against the Leopards and are 30-24, all-time, against the Patriot League and have faced at least one PL insitution every year since 1997-1998, going 13-9 during that time.

* Wagner has scored first in all four games and is now 2-0 when the opponent makes more three-pointers after going 1-7 in similar situations a year ago.

* Junior Josh Thompson is converting 80.0 percent (12-15) of his field goal attempts through the first four games after shooting 12.5 percent (3-24) over the first four last year.

* Junior Jonathon Williams (28 points) and Murray (20 points) each notched 20 points in the 87-83 win over North Carolina Central (11/16). That is the third time in the Hurley era that the Seahawks have had two players each go for 20-plus points. The Green & White are undefeated in those three games.

* Wagner had five student-athletes in double-figures for the first time this year agaisnt NCCU (11/16) and the fifth time in Hurley's tenure on Grymes Hill.

COACH DAN HURLEY
Head coach Dan Hurley is 16-18 in this his second year. Hurley initiated an eight-win improvement last year, marking the best regular season turnaround in America for a first-year coach while also matching Steve Lavin of St. John's for the best conference-win improvement (+6) by a rookie coach.

LATE GAME HEROICS
Wagner converted six-of-seven from the line in the last five minutes of its 87-83 win over NCCU (11/16) - including four with under 30 seconds to play - and was 9-of-10 in the last 1:29 of a 76-70 win at Lafayette (11/19). Last year, the Seahawks made good on 78.2 (154-197) in the game's last five minutes of 10-point games with sophomore Latif Rivers leading the way at 88.2 percent (45-51) and senior Tyler Murray converting 86.3 percent (44-51).

PENN COACH JEROME ALLEN
Penn, like Wagner, is coached by a former collegiate player with NCAA Tournament experience. Jerome Allen, a four-year starter for the Quakers during his playing days, led Penn to three-straight Ivy League titles from 1993-1995. As a junior, in 1993-1994, his Quaker squad defeated Nebraska in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. A two-time Ivy League Player of the Year, Allen was drafted in the second round of the 1995 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves and spent two years in the league. After taking over as coach midway through the 2009-2010 season, he led Penn to a 13-15 record (7-7) last year in his first full season.

SCOUTING PENN
The Quakers are paced by the guard trio of senior Zack Rosen (22.8 ppg, 5.8 apg, 4.3 rpg), sophomores Miles Cartwright (12.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg) and Tyler Bernardini (12.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg) as the three players have combined for 71.5 percent of the team's offense. As a unit, the Quakers are outstanding on the defensive end of the court, limiting the opposition to just 37.1 percent shooting, including 27.1 percent from beyond the arc, with the teams averaging just 62.5 points per game.

THREE-POINT SHOOTING COMES ALIVE
After converting on just 11-of-32 (.344) from beyond the arc over the first two games, the Green & White made good on 10-of-21 (.476) in its win over NCCU (11/16) and 7-of-20 (.350) in its victory at Lafayette (11/19). Last year, the Seahawks went 0-6 when failing to hit at least three three pointers in a game.

DID YOU KNOW???
Before George Mason's stunning run to the Final Four in the 2006 NCAA Tournament the last mid-major team to appear in the Final Four was Penn in 1979.

THREE-POINT DEFENSE STRUGGLING
Last year, Wagner limited opposing three-point shooters to just 35.4 percent while holding a +51 margin on three pointers. This season the Seahawk opposition has hit on 43.8 percent from long range while matching the Seahawks with 28 three pointers (7.0 pg).

LAST FIVE MINUTES
In the last five minutes of its four games on the year, Wagner is converting 25-of-35 (71.4 %) from the line. In the first 35 minutes the Seahawks are making good on just 41-of-63 (65.1 %).

SEAHAWKS BIG FOUR
There is no question that the Seahawks are led by its Big 4 of Murray (14.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg), Rivers (14.0 ppg, 2.8 apg), junior Jonathon Williams (12.0 ppg, 3.8 rpg) and Sophomore Kenneth Ortiz (9.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.8 apg) as the foursome is averaging almost 50 of the Green & White's 75.5 points per game.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
Murray and Rivers are again the top-two scorers for Wagner and have each hit for double-figures in the first four games.

KEY MATCH-UP FOR WAGNER
Limiting Zack Rosen. The senior guard leads Penn in scoring with 22.8 points per game while shooting 59.3 percent (32-54) from the floor, including 65.4 percent (17-26) from long range. He is also handing out a team-best 5.8 assists per game while pulling down 4.3 rebounds each time out. Rosen will more than likely fill up the stat sheet but the Green & White will have to make him work for everything while limiting the opportunities he creates for his teammates.

KEY MATCH-UP FOR PENN
Defense. Wagner is 3-0 on the year when scoring at least 70 points in a game, as the Seahawks have seven players that have hit for double-figures over the first four games.

20/20
Wagner has pressured the opposition into an average of 20.3 turnovers per game. The Seahawks forced  Princeton (11/12) into 28 turnovers in the season-opener, which are the most miscues caused by the Green & White since December 4, 2001 when Iona turned it over 28 times. In the win over Lafayette (11/19), the Leopards turned it over 20 times. Last season, the most turnovers committed by Princeton was 27 at Duke while the most by Lafayette was 19.

LIVE IN YOUR LIVING ROOM
Time Warner Cable has announced the addition of four more games to its previously-announced five-game home slate, bringing the total of Wagner's televised home games to 11, meaning that just two home contests will not be on TV.  Included in the package will be the Seahawks' first-ever ESPN home regular season telecast against Long Island on Saturday, January 21 at 7:00 pm on ESPNU. The next game to appear on TV will be the Delaware State game (11/26). All told 15 of the 29 Green & White contests will be on television. The full television schedule appears on the front page of the game notes and on the schedule/results page on the website.

ORTIZ MAKING WAVES ON STATEN ISLAND
Ortiz is making his presence felt on Grymes Hill in his first season at Wagner after sitting out last year. The 6-0 point guard is leading the team with 5.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.8 steals per game while averaging 9.5 points each time out. In the 87-83 win over NCCU (11/16), he recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds to go along with six assists.

THOMPSON TAKES FLIGHT
For the second-straight year, junior Josh Thompson has been a viable force off the bench, averaging 7.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while converting on 80,0 percent (12-15) from the floor in an average of just 16.5 minutes per game. He started with a bang at Princeton (11/12), recording 14 points and nine rebounds and has been consistent ever since. In the win at Lafayette (11/19), Thompson notched seven points with two assists and two steals.

REBOUNDING FROM THE LINE
Following the game at Princeton (11/12), the Green & White rebounded to convert 82.4 percent (14-17) from the line at #4 UConn (11/14) and are 54-for-71 (76.1 percent) in the three games since the opener.

MURRAY LIGHTS IT UP
Murray is averaging a team-best 14.3 points with 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 55.9 percent (19-34) from the floor, including 64.7 percent (11-17) from beyond the arc. He also is the top-ranked three-point shooter in school history with a career conversion rate of 42.0 percent (126-300).
