FINAL RESULTS
Holmdel, NJ - Sophomore
Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) led Wagner to a ninth-place finish at the 5K 2011 Northeast Conference (NEC) Cross Country Championship at Holmdel Park. The second-year harrier clocked a time of 19:49.70 en route to placing 22nd overall despite horrific weather conditions that included freezing rain and snow.
Quinnipiac (44 points) won the team title while outdistancing fellow Nutmeg State institution Sacred Heart (75 points). Monmouth (91 points) took third, followed by Central Connecticut State (99 points), Saint Francis (PA) (107 points), Robert Morris (147 points), Bryant (192 points), Mount St. Mary's (221 points), Wagner (229 points), St. Francis (NY) (283 points), Fairleigh Dickinson (332 points) and Long Island (383 points).
Sophomore
Samantha Lauro (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) was the second Seahawk finisher, taking 41st with a time of 20:18.90.
Not far behind Lauro was junior
Taylor Fredrickson (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville), who placed 58th in 21:09.90.
Finishing fourth on the team and 63rd overall in 21:22.60 was sophomore
Cameo Kirk (Ocean Port, NJ / Shore Regional) while freshman
Heather Wolf (Pine Brook, NJ / Montville Township) rounded out the scorers, placing 70th with a time of 21:41.0.
CCSU's Alasia Griebel won the individual title with a mark of 18:42.10.
