BOX SCORE

Staten Island, NY –
Rob Robinson scored 16 points to lead four players in double figures as Robert Morris pulled away for a 76-55 win over Wagner. With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 4-26 on the season, 2-15 in the Northeast Conference while first-place Robert Morris improves to 20-10 overall, 15-2 in conference play.

Wagner trailed by just a 20-16 count with 8:53 left in the opening half following a layup by sophomore guard Chris Martin (Sicklerville, NJ/Apex Academies) before Robert Morris closed the half on a 16-4 run to take control of the game and enter the locker room with a 36-24 advantage. Martin paced the Seahawks in the opening stanza with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including two three-pointers. Sophomore guard Tyler Murray (Toronto, Ontario/Eastern Commerce) added seven first half points for the Seahawks. The Colonials were led in the opening half by Robinson's 11 points while Dallas Green added seven first-half points.

In the second half, Wagner was able to whittle the lead down to seven points at 41-34 following a Martin three-pointer with 16:56 left in the game. But the long and athletic Colonials responded with a 14-2 run, capped by a jumper by Josiah Whitehead, that ballooned the lead to 55-36 at the 11:16 juncture of the second half. The closer Wagner would get the rest of the way was 15 following a Martin jumper with 9:56 to go.

Martin and Murray finished with 15 points apiece to lead Wagner offensively, while junior guard #T.J. Czeski# (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) added seven points for the Seahawks. In addition to Robinson's 16 points, the other double figure scorers for Robert Morris were Whitehead (11), Karon Abraham (11) and Green (10).

Wagner shot 50 percent from the field while RMU hit on 51 percent of their field goal attempts but there was a big disparity in the rebounding department as the Colonials dominated the boards, 38-21. Robert Morris was particularly effective on the offensive glass as the Colonials had 18 offensive rebounds to Wagner's five.

Wagner will conclude the 2009-2010 season on Saturday, Feb. 27 at home vs. Saint Francis (PA). This will be Senior Night as the Seahawks will honor Elwell and Orock in a pre-game ceremony prior to the 7:00 pm tilt.

NOTES – Freshman center Ryan Schrotenboer (Fort Myers, FL/Bishop Verot) gained the first start of his career and finished with four points and two rebounds.
