Women's Cross Country Team Places Tenth at METS Championships

Wagner College's women's cross country team finished 10th place out of 15 at the 6K Metropolitan Conference Cross Country Championships Friday afternoon in Van Cortland Park.

Freshman Alexia Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) led Wagner with a time of 19:49 and a 35th place finish overall out of 134 runners. Kelly Dennis (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) finished in a time of 21:04 for 69th place, while Samantha Lauro (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) ran the race in 21:14 to finish 75th. Rounding out the scores for Wagner were Dominique Serpe (Staten Island, NY / Notre Dame Academy) and Cameo Kirk (Ocean Port, NJ / Shore Regional) who clocked in at 21:17 and 22:20 respectively.

Wagner finished 10th overall with a total of 296 points. Columbia University took top honors in the 6K finishing with a total of 41 points.

Wagner is back in action on Saturday, October 16th at the UAlbany Invitational.
