Women's Cross Country Places Thirteenth At UAlbany Invitational

The Wagner College Women's Cross Country team finished thirteenth out of 22 teams represented at the 44th Annual UAlbany Cross Country Invitational.

Freshman Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) turned out another impressive performance at the 5K-race, registering a career-best time of 19:22 while finishing 45th out of 177 runners and collecting her second top finish for the Seahawks this season.

Sophomore Taylor Fredrickson (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) was the second member of the Green & White to cross the finish line, finishing in 20:01 for an 80th-place finish. Finishing third for the Green and White for the third time this season was freshman Samantha Lauro (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa), who ran a 20:15  in taking 89th. Sophomore Kelly Dennis (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) was 100th in a time of 20:31 while Dominique Serpe (Staten Island, NY / Notre Dame Academy) rounded out the scorers for Wagner, finishing 110th in a time of 20:45.

Wagner finished thirteenth overall with a total of 381 points. The University of New Hampshire captured top honors with a total of 29 points.

The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the CCSU Mini Meet in New Britian, CT.
