WOMEN'S RESULTS

LINCROFT, NJ - The Wagner College women's cross country team placed fifth on Saturday afternoon at the 6th Annual Monmouth Cross Country Kick-Off at Thompson Park. Three girls, Taylor Fredrickson (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville), Kelly Dennis (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa Academy), and Jenna Naglieri (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) provided top-40 finishes in the women's season opener.

Fredrickson, a freshman, led the team with a 16:03.86 finish. Her efforts resulted in a 13th place finish among Division I athletes, 15th overall. Dennis and Naglieri also had strong showings. Dennis, a freshman, finish 23rd among Division I athletes at 16:53.82 while Naglieri, a senior, was not fair behind finishing 24th in the same field at 17:03.12.

The Seahawks finished fifth overall at 119 total points. Ahead of them were Long Island University (114), Seton Hall (89), and Monmouth (46). Albany won the event with a score of 20 points.

The women return to action on September 19th when they travel to the Quinnipiac Invite.
