Hempstead, NY - Hofstra defeated Wagner 6-0 at the Hofstra University Outdoor Tennis Center. The Pride improve to 8-8 while the Seahawks fall to 1-12.

Seniors Brittany Frazza (West Caldwell, NJ / Morris Catholic) and Emily Boyd (Stratham, NH / Exeter Area) were each shut out 6-0, 6-0 by Lauren Clifton and Christie Gattelaro at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively. Stacey Kent handed freshman Britta Olsen (Hallowell, ME / Hall-Dale) a 6-0, 6-2 defeat at No. 3 singles. Freshman Svetlana Chirokikh (Rochester, NY / Brighton) fared no better at No. 4 singles, losing 6-0, 6-0 to Brooke Sailer. Rounding out singles' play, Tracy Ferrar defeated Joanna Ciavarella (Brooklyn, NY / Fontbone Academy) 6-0, 6-4.

Hofstra won both doubles' matches, accounting for the final 6-0 tally.

Wagner hosts St. Francis (NY) tomorrow at 2:00 pm.
