Women's Tennis Clipped 4-3 At La Salle

Despite a pair of wins from senior Brittany Frazza (West Caldwell, NJ / Morris Catholic) and junior Valerie LeCureux (Jamison, PA / Central Bucks East) the Wagner Seahawks dropped a tight 4-3 decision at La Salle in non-conference tennis action. Frazza evened her record at 5-5 with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) win over Lauren Perry at No. 1 singles while LeCureux breezed past Christina Gomez by scores of 6-1, 6-0 and is now 3-5 on the year.

Sophomore Joanna Ciavarella (Brooklyn, NY / Fontbone Academy) also picked up her third victory of the year, besting Pearl Wilkens 7-5, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. La Salle claimed wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, before taking the the point at No. 6 singles by default.

The Explorers clinched the match by winning all three doubles' matches.

The Seahawks host Monmouth tomorrow, Saturday, April 4 at 10:30 am.
