Staten Island, NY – The Seahawks' women's tennis team split their final two matches of the regular season, blanking St. Francis (NY) 7-0 before being clipped 4-3 by Hartford and enter the upcoming Northeast Conference (NEC) tournament with a record of 2-13 and 2-3 in the NEC.
The Green & White claimed all six singles matches and three doubles matches against the Terriers.

Britta Olsen (Hallowell, ME / Hall-Dale) dominated Shakaya Slay to the tune of 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Junior
Valerie LeCureux (Jamison, PA / Central Bucks East) was perfect at No. 4 singles, besting Renee Warner 6-0 and 3-0 before the latter retired. At the five spot, freshman
Svetlana Chirokikh (Rochester, NY / Brighton) collected her first collegiate win against Angel Lawrence 6-4, 6-0. Rounding out singles play, sophomore
Joanna Ciavarella (Brooklyn, NY / Fontbone Academy) blanked Ashley Delorbe 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, the senior tandem of Frazza and Boyd won at 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. LeCureux and Ciavarella combined for the 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles before Olsen and Chirokikh won via an 8-0 shutout at No. 3 doubles, concluding the Wagner sweep.
Wagner then concluded their season with a hard-fought 4-3 loss to the Hartford Hawks.
Frazza improved to a team-best 8-7 with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles over Kasey Michels. Chirokikh collected her second collegiate win with a hard-fought 1-6, 7-5, 11-9 decision over Margaret Potkay at No. 5 singles. Ciavarella picked up her fifth win of the year 6-0, 7-5 at No. 6 singles over Gulay Ozdemir.
The Hawks won the match by winning all three doubles matches, collecting the fourth and deciding point.
The Seahawks return to action on Friday, April 17 at the NEC Tournament in West Windsor, NJ.
