Riverside, CA – The Wagner College Seahawks fell 6-3 to the Colorado State University Rams before rebounding with a 15-4 victory over the Azusa Pacific University Cougars in the day one of the Lancer Invite on Friday. The Seahawks' record stands 6-8 overall with two contests remaining in their west coast tour.

A hard fought game with Colorado State finished with the Seahawks trailing 3-1 after the first half.
Alexandra Tomlinson (Telford, PA/Souderton) struck first for the Green & White, evening the score at 1-1 with a 5M goal with 3:47 remaining in the first period. A Rams' score seconds later followed by an early second-period tally put Colorado State ahead by two.
The second half resembled the first with the Rams adding back-to-back scores to increase their lead to 5-1. With 1:10 remaining in the third period, senior
Nicole Maichrowicz (Temple City, CA/Temple City) struck to bring the Seahawks within three. A fourth quarter Rams' tally was matched by Tomlinson's second marker of the game, but it was not enough as Wagner fell 6-3.

An offensive explosion in game two spotted the Seahawks an 8-1 lead by halftime. Four different Seahawks found the back of the net, including sophomore
Natalie Pyrz (Harleysville, PA/Souderton), Tomlinson, and freshman
Lauren French (Colmar, PA/North Penn), who claimed three unanswered tallies to put Wagner ahead. A late Cougars' score was matched by freshman
Chelsea Beck (Reading, PA/Wilson) to give the Green & White a 4-1 edge.
Tomlinson took over there, finding the back of the net twice in the second period. The scoring spree continued as freshmen
Rebecca Hannings (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) and
Sara Olguin (Whittier, CA/Sonora) stretched Wagner's lead to 8-1.

Molly Robinson (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) each added individual scores, while Olguin tacked on two more markers as the Seahawks jumped out to 13-2 lead with a 5-0 third period.

Dana DeCinque (Collegeville, PA/The Hill School) and freshman goalie
Lauren Lovallo (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) each finished with a goal apiece.
On defense, Lovallo registered five saves for her first official collegiate victory. She had previously earned a win in Wagner's 17-7 exhibition win over DDO-B on March 7.
The Seahawks return to action tomorrow with a doubleheader against Claremont at 10:00 AM (1:00 PM East Coast) and Fresno Pacific at 5:30 PM (8:30 East Coast).
