The Wagner College Seahawks (0-5) will complete their two-game Western Pennsylvania road swing by meeting the Robert Morris Colonials (2-5) at 7:00 pm on Saturday night. The Seahawks opened their NEC season on the short end of a 69-42 decision at Saint Francis (PA) on Thursday night. Robert Morris, meanwhile, knocked of NEC preseason favorite Mount St. Mary's 63-57.
THE SERIES
The Colonials lead the all-time series between the schools 31-22. The teams split their two meetings last season. In Moon Township, Robert Morris thumped the Seahawks 104-56 on Jan. 17 but Wagner returned the favor on Grymes Hill with a late-season 62-59 victory. on Feb. 21.
THE COACHES
Wagner head coach Mike Deane enters his 26th season as a head coach and his seventh as the head man of the Seahawks. He holds an overall coaching mark of 432-314. His 432 wins entering the season rank 24th among all active coaches. In his six seasons at Wagner, Deane is 90-92. Over the previous two seasons, Wagner's 39 wins are the second-most in the NEC behind only Robert Morris. Mike Rice is in his third season as the head man at Robert Morris and he boasts a 52-23 record. In 2007-08, Rice led the Colonials to a 26-8 record and a berth in the NIT. Last season, his club went 24-11, and won the NEC Championship and accompanying NCAA Tournament berth with a thrilling 48-46 win over Mount St. Mary's.

Mike Deane and Mike Rice are no strangers as Rice served three seasons under Deane as an assistant coach at Marquette University from 1994-1997.
Up Next...Wagner returns to the friendly confines of the Spiro Center to host Ivy League member Columbia on Tuesday, Dec. 8 in a 7:00 pm tip-off. Following the Columbia game, the Seahawks will travel to Jersey City to meet the Peacocks of Saint Peter's College in a 2:00 pm tilt at the Yanetelli Recreation and Life Center.
