The Wagner College Seahawks, one of the nation's youngest teams featuring seven freshmen, and the Stony Brook Seawolves will meet in Wagner's 2009-2010 home opener. Ryan Conrad (Columbus, NC/ Providence Academy) who played like a wily veteran vs. someone playing his first collegiate game, pouring in 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including a 4-of-7 effort from three-point range. He was also a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line and added five rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes of action.The Seahawks won last year's meeting in Stony Brook 65-62.

Mike Deane enters his 26th season as a head coach and his seventh as the head man of the Seahawks. He holds an overall coaching mark of 432-307. His 432 wins entering the season rank 24th among all active coaches. In his six seasons at Wagner, Deane is 90-88. Over the last two seasons, Wagner's 39 wins are the second-most in the NEC behind only Robert Morris. Steve Pikiell enters his fifth season as the head coach of Stony Brook and has an overall record of 38-81. The Seawolves were 16-14 and tied for fourth in America East Conference last season.
