Dennis Has First Career Team-Best Finish at NEC Championships

– Freshman Kelly Dennis (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) completed the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship 5K in 21:00.3 for her first career team-best finish. Dennis crossed the finish line in 56th place, but was the 17th freshman overall.

Dennis snapped a five-event streak held by teammate Taylor Fredrickson (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville), who had finished first in each of Wagner's five events this season. Despite losing the team's top spot, Fredrickson provided an outstanding 21:25.7 finish – good for 64th overall.

Seniors Jenna Naglieri (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) and Nicole Panik (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) finished 66th and 85th, respectively. Naglieri finished in 21:27.4, while Panik completed the race in 22:48.3. Freshman Dominique Serpe (Staten Island, NY/Notre Dame) also contributed to the Seahawks final score with a 92nd place finish.

Wagner finished in 12th place with 308 total points. The Quinnpiac University women were took home the team title with 33 total points. Sacred Heart's junior Kimberly DeLoreto finished first overall at 17:58.1.
