Women's Tennis Drops Pair To Close Fall Season

The Wagner women's tennis team lost to Lafayette by a score of 7-0 and Saint Peter's by a 4-3 count at the Wagner College Tennis Courts. With the defeats, the Green & White conclude the fall campaign with a record of 0-4.

Freshman Nikki Arnold (Bethlehem, PA / Liberty) claimed the first singles victory of the year for Wagner with an impressive 8-2 win over Jessica Nowogrodzki at No. 4 singles in just her second collegiate match. Also collecting wins by forfeit were freshman Kaeli Havunen and sophomore Allison Argust (East Greenbush, NY / Averill Park) at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

Freshman Karena Webber (West Newbury, MA / Pentucket) was felled by Kyrsten Chen at No. 1 singles by a 6-1, 6-0 count. Junior Joanna Ciavarella (Brooklyn, NY / Fontbone Academy) was defeated by Joniesa Williams 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Andrea Collomb bested freshman Aurora Brennen (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Saint Peter's took the doubles point to claim the match by a 4-3 count.

The Seahawks dropped the opener to Lafayette by a 7-0 margin.

Webber lost at No. 1 singles to Allie Seranko 6-0, 6-2. Cailin Gordon beat Ciavarella 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Brennen was felled 6-1, 6-0 by Kelsey Grad. Arnold lost her first collegiate match to K. Charchalis 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Kate Herman bested Havunen 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 singles. Rounding out singles play, Argust lost to Carly David 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

Lafayette won the doubles point by winning all three matches.
