Women Compete at METS Championship

Freshman Taylor Fredrickson led the Seahawks for the fourth straight event

For the fourth time in her young career, freshman Taylor Fredrickson (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) claimed Wagner College's top-spot. Fredrickson finished in 21:07 at the New York Metropolitan Cross Country Championships on Saturday, a 6K race held at Van Cortland Park in Riverdale, New York. She earned 64th place at the event.

Freshman Kelly Dennis (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) and senior Jenna Naglieri (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) each provided a bright spot for the Seahawks. Dennis was just one second behind the team-leader, with a 21:08 finish. Naglieri was not far behind either, finishing with a time of 21:30.

Senior Nicole Panik (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) and freshman Dominique Serpe (Staten Island, NY/Notre Dame) rounded out the group with 80th and 84th place finishes, respectively.

Wagner finished in 14th place with a score of 363. Columbia University was the winner of the event with a score of 21.

The women return to action on October 17th, when they travel to Albany, NY for the University at Albany's Invitational.
