Will Fox

Will Fox enter his second season at the helm of the Wagner College men's lacrosse program.

Starting during the 2025 season, Fox brings almost a decade of Division I playing and coaching experience to Grymes Hill. 

During his first season, Fox earned his first win of his coaching career on March 28 against LIU in a 12-11 overtime victory after senior Ethan Sieb scored his third goal of the game to grant the Seahawks the victory over their long-time conference rival. Sieb was named an NEC Prime Performer, along with goalkeeper Angus Snow, for their showings against the Sharks. 

Prior to becoming a Wagner Seahawks, Fox most recently acted as the Defensive Coordinator for Sacred Heart during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. 

Fox coached the Pioneers during their 2024 MAAC title run, helping Sacred Heart to an undefeated mark in conference play and its first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. 

Under Fox’s supervision, the Pioneers posted the sixth best scoring defense in the nation, conceding an average of 9.61 goals throughout their 2024 campaign. Additionally, Sacred Heart recorded a top-25 face-off percentage (52.5%) and man-down percentage (70.2%) in the nation.

Across his two years, Fox oversaw eight All-MAAC Selections, headlined by the conference’s 2024 Offensive Player of the Year, Morgan O’Reily and Long Stick Midfielder of the Year, Zach Buffington. 

Prior to his stint at Sacred Heart, Fox was an assistant coach at North Carolina from 2020-22. There, Fox helped the Tar Heels accumulate a record of 28-9, highlighted by an NCAA Semifinal appearance in 2021, an ACC Conference Championship in 2021, 11 All-Americans and six Conference All-Stars.

Fox played at Fairfield for the 2015-18 seasons. During his time as a Stag, Fox earned two nods onto the All-CAA Second-Team in 2015 and 2016, as well as the 2015 CAA Rookie of the Year. 

As a senior, Fox collected 78 ground balls and won 154 face-offs. 

As a freshman, Fox received five conference Rookie of the Week honors, including a 13-draw performance against Massachusetts in the 2015 CAA Championship Semifinals.

When Fox finished his playing career at Fairfield, he concluded his career with 61 game appearances and was second all-time in face-off wins (503), face-off win percentage (.555), and ground balls (220) in school history. 

Fox's resume includes ranking eighth all-time in the CAA for career face-off wins and 12th all-time in the CAA for Career face-off winning percentage and ground balls when he ended his career as a Stag.

Fox’s resume also includes being named Fairfield’s Male Freshman Athlete of the Year in 2015, a 2018 USILA Scholar All-American honor, a 2018 NEILA Scholar All-American honor, and a 2018 Fairfield's Alumni Association Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor.

The New Jersey native was selected in the 2018 Supplemental Draft by the Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse spending the summer of 2019 on its practice squad as a face-off specialist. 

Fox graduated from Fairfield in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Health Studies. 

Currently, Fox resides in Weehawken with his wife, Kelly.
