Shamika Kentish

Shamika Kentish

Shamika Kentish was named Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at Wagner in January 2026. She brings more than a decade of NCAA compliance experience across Division I and Division II institutions.

Kentish serves as a member of Wagner’s athletics leadership team and oversees all aspects of NCAA compliance and regulatory operations. Her responsibilities include NCAA rules interpretation, compliance education, Academic Progress Rate (APR) reporting, and ensuring institutional alignment with NCAA, conference, and university policies.

Prior to joining Wagner, Kentish served as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at Gannon University. She previously held the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Norfolk State University, where she provided NCAA and MEAC rules interpretations and helped develop and implement diversity and inclusion programming, including Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) initiatives.

Kentish also brings conference-level experience from her time as Director of Compliance and Championships at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), overseeing compliance operations for championship events and directing the conference’s cross country and volleyball championships.

Her collegiate compliance career additionally includes leadership roles at George Mason University, where she served as Interim Director of Compliance and Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, as well as positions at Missouri State University and Chowan University, monitoring eligibility, recruiting, and scholarship processes for multiple sport programs.

She is actively involved with Women Leaders in College Sports, the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC), and the Minority Opportunity Athletic Association.

Kentish earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Sports Management from Seton Hall University in 2010 and a Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix in 2012. She is a Certified NCAA Facilitator and a graduate of the NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute.
