Wagner College Athletics

Joe Mascia began his tenure at Wagner as the Director of Facilities and Operations in 2022 and was elevated to Assistant AD in 2024. Mascia is no stranger to Staten Island, as he spent the last five years at the College of Staten Island. 

Mascia will serve many duties in his role, including facilities management, event, and game management. 

As a member of the Dolphins Athletics staff, Mascia served as the Athletic Communication Coordinator, where he would maintain and update the University's athletic website while supervising all Sports Information support staff for home athletic contests. 

From 2019 through August 2021, Mascia was the Events Manager and Facilities Supervisor at CSI, where he would plan, schedule, and supervise all rental events while hiring, training, and scheduling student staff. 

Mascia began working at CSI in February of 2017 as Assistant Intramural & Recreation Coordinator. In this capacity, Mascia would verify eligibility for particpation in intramural events while ensuring the proper setup and use of all university equipment during these competitions. Additionally, he would fill in for missing officials or officate games on a necessary basis. 

He spent a year as an intern with the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Class-A afflilate of the New York Mets. Among his responsibilities included assisting with various gameday operations, helping selling team merchandise, ticket and concession sales and in-game promotional activities. 

Mascia received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management in 2019 from Southern New Hampshire University.
