Jack McKiernan

Jack McKiernan joined the Seahawks’ athletic department in December 2023 as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations. As an accomplished Athletic Administrator with over 20 years of experience providing leadership in supporting the academic and athletic success of student-athletes, McKiernan most recently worked as the Athletic Operations Manager at NJIT.
 
McKiernan was responsible for the day-to-day oversight and administration of the Athletics and Recreation Facilities at NJIT, providing support related to operations, event management, scheduling, and maintenance.
McKiernan also served as the Assistant Director for Championships and Compliance at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association in Pittsburgh, PA and was the Director of Athletics (2015-19) at Kean University, the third largest public University in New Jersey. At Kean, he was a key member of the committee for construction and design of new and updated athletic Facilities.
A current resident of Point Pleasant, NJ, McKiernan also spent time as President of New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Board of Athletic Administrators, and as Chair of NCAA Division III Baseball and Football Championship Committee for two years.

McKiernan spent 10 years as the Associate Director of Athletics at Kean, coordinating scheduling for all athletic teams, serving as Tournament Director for NCAA Women's Basketball Championships, NCAA Baseball and Softball Regionals and one round of NCAA Football Playoffs.
He headed the Sports Information Department from 2000-05, coordinating all aspects of communication and distribution of information for Kean Athletics to local, regional and national media outlets.
An NCAA Division I student-athlete, McKiernan was a four-year letter winner in football at Rutgers University earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Studies with a concentration in Sports Management. He continued his education, obtaining a Masters of Arts in Administration and Supervision with a concentration in Sports Management at Montclair State University.
