Dolita Awala-Shaw joins the Wagner track and field staff in the fall of 2025 to work primarily with the program's sprinters under head coach Marvin Azor.
In her first year on Grymes Hill, Awala-Shaw was on staff as the men's outdoor track & field team won an NEC Championship, with two student-athletes qualifying to participate in NCAA Regionals in three events. For that outdoor performance, Azor and his staff were named the NEC Coaching Staff of the Year. Wagner tallied 17 All-NEC selections for outdoor track & field season, with an additional seven selected to All-NEC teams during indoor season.
Of Awala-Shaw's sprinters, freshman Noah Grant led the men's team in 2025-2026, earning Most Outstanding Performer (Sprints) and Most Outstanding Rookie for outdoor season and Most Outstanding Rookie in indoor season. On the women's side, sophomore Christine Manneh was named Most Outstanding Performer (Sprints) for both indoor and outdoor season.
A graduate of Brigham Young University in December 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies and Advertising, Awala-Shaw was also a member of the University's track and field team from Jan. 2021 through May 2024.
Off the track, Awala-Shaw has worked in both marketing and communication settings, most recently as a marketing consultant with the Onyx Agency. Prior to that position, Awala-Shaw also worked with Movara Designs and JD Sports Fashion in graphic design and marketing, developing designs and campaigns to grow each brand.
