Daniel Walsh

Daniel Walsh joins the Wagner baseball staff in fall 2025 as a graduate assistant coach.

Walsh arrives on Grymes Hill after a three-year playing career at Western Carolina where he also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Law. A transfer to WCU from Sacramento City College, he also earned an Associate of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies before rounding out his career as a Panther. In three seasons at WKU, Walsh finished with a .294 batting average across 95 games, then spent time playing professionally in 2023 with the Pioneer League’s Grand Junction Jackalopes.

In his first season at WKU, Walsh led all regular starters with a .386 batting average through 16 games before the season was shortened because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He was named to the 2019-20 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll for that junior season. Walsh finished his junior season in 2021 with 45 appearances, ending the season with a .304 batting average and collecting 51 hits. He was selected 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District 3, named to the 2021 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and Academic All-Southern Conference, in addition to receiving a SoCon Commissioner's Medal for Academic Performance.

After a broken hand sidelined his senior season, Walsh ultimately played in 34 games, batting .216 on the season, finishing 19-for-88 with nine extra-base hits. Walsh also spent two summers with the Northwoods League’s Wimar Stingers, batting .282 in 2019 and .256 in 2021.

While at Wagner, Walsh will be pursuing a Master’s of Business Administration.
