Aubrey Mytych

Aubrey Mytych was named the head coach of the Wagner College field hockey program prior to the 2024 season. 

Across her two seasons as head coach, Mytych has overseen one NEC Goalkeeper of the Year (van Dalen '24), two All-NEC First Team members (Muller '24, Valor '24), and four All-NEC Second Team honors (Lorenzini '24, Leunisse '25, de Leeuw '25, and Bianchino '25). Three Seahawks have been named to the NFHCA All-Region Mideast Second Team (Muller '24, Valor '24, and Leunisse '25).


Mytych earned a confernce record of 7-1 in 2024 before going 6-3 in 2025, holding a 13-4 (76.5%) win rate within the NEC. 

During the 2024 season, Mytych led the Seahawks to a program-record 12 wins in her first year at the helm of the Seahawks roster.

In 2024, the Seahawks finished with a 12-7 overall record and a mark of 7-1 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play. Seven wins and an NEC win percentage of 87.5% were both program-records that occured during Mytych's first year.

A 2-1 in over Rider on November 1, 2024 granted the Seahawks their first outright NEC regular season crown in six seasons as a program.

The Seahawks attempted a program-high 276 shots and 163 penalty corners in 2024. 

Under Mytych's guidance, Saar van Dalen was named the conference's Goalkeeper of the Year as a freshman and earned a program-record 1.43 goals allowed average (GAA), which ranked van Dalen 24th nationally in the category. 

Mytych has brought the Seahawks to the NEC title game in each of her two seasons. 

Mytych joined the Seahawks after a three-year playing career at Old Dominion. At Old Dominion, Mytych was a Dean’s List honoree, an NFHCA National Academic Squad member, a 2022 Big East Regular Season Champion and a 2023 Big East Champion.

During the 2021 season, Mytych played in 18 games, scoring one goal on with six shots on net. The next season, Mytych appeared in 18 games and found the back of the net nine times times with 10 shots on net. During her final year, Mytych suited up for 21 games, scoring three goals and with three assists on the season, while putting 11 shots on target.

Overall, Mytych appeared in 57 games for the Monarchs while logging five starts. The Wyoming, PA native netted 13 goals while dishing out three assists, highlighted by a two-goal performance against Quinnipiac.

Prior to her stint at Old Dominion, Mytych appeared in ten games, starting one, throughout two seasons at Penn State. 

Mytych took over a 2024 roster that returned 18 student-athletes and finished as the Northeast Conference runner-up during the 2023 NEC Tournament.
