Rebecca Richards

Rebecca Richards, formerly an assistant coach at Hamilton College, is entering her second season as part of the Wagner College swimming and diving program in 2010-11.

In her first season at Wagner College, Richards helped lead the program to a strong season finish. Richards helped coordinated all recruiting, administered all training groups, organized equipment orders through Nike and Speedo, as well as tracking the progress of incoming swimmers. This summer Richards worked at the Arete swim camp, working closely with Chuck Warner.

Previously Richards was an assistant coach for the Hamilton College swimming and diving teams during the 2008-09 season where she primarily coached the distance team, as well as coordinated all recruiting, oversaw practice groups, organized all travel logistics and managed meet entries. Richards also worked at swim camps at Auburn University where she oversaw the Elite group and worked alongside Olympic Head Coach Dennis Pursley. Richards also spent time coaching at the Harvard University technique camp in 2008.

Her background also includes serving as interim Head Coach for a large international swim program at the Patana School in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2007.

Richards, who hails from England, attended the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff from 2004 to 2007, where she was a six-time BUSA finalist in the freestyle events. In 2008, she was a world triathlon championship qualifier for her 20 to 24-year-old age group and still competes on a regular basis. She was also named captain of the women's swim team at the Millfield School in Somerset, England, in 2004.
