Attended Cortland Junior Senior High School in Cortland, NY… In the classroom, she was a member of the National Honor Society (2018-20), while collecting the Health/FACS Education Award (2019) as well as the Bill Nye Science Award (2019)… Member of the Student Council…As a member of the Tigers soccer team, under head coach Ilona Ryon, she led the program to the 2017 Sectional Quarterfinals as well as back-to-back Sectional Semifinal appearances in 2018 & 2019… After scoring two goals and adding an assist in 2015, she netted 17 goals in 2016 en route to earning a spot on the 2016 OHSL First Team… The following season, she tallied 17 goals and added eight helpers as she earned team MVP honors as well as being tabbed to the 2017 SCAC First Team and being named to the 2017 Section 3 Class A All-Star Team… Had a breakout 2018 season, scoring 21 goals and notching 15 assists… Was named team MVP for the second straight year while repeating on the SCAC First Team while being tabbed to the Section 3 Class A All-Star Team, the Class A All-State Third Team and All-CNY First Team (Large Schools)… In 2019, after scoring 19 goals and recording 16 assists, she broke an 11-year school record as she finished her career with 196 points (76 career goals and 44 career assists)… As a member of SDA, while patrolling the center midfield spot, she led the club to three State Cup Championships (2017, 2018, 2019)… She represented NYSW in the Regional Tournament (2017-19)… Additionally, a three-year member of the school's volleyball team… In 2018, she recorded 23 aces and 132 digs while in 2019 upping her totals, serving up 49 aces, 16 assists, and 198 digs… Collected 2020 First Team and Defensive MVP awards.Â
Daughter of Daniel and Donna Cruz… Has one sibling, Talia…. Among her community service initiatives, she has made blankets for the local Child Advocacy Center… Intends on pursuing a degree in Nursing.
