Former Fairfield University standout Alex Fehmel joined the Seahawk women's lacrosse staff in July 2017 and completed her second year with the Seahawks in 2019.
Prior to her arrival on Grymes Hill, Fehmel enjoyed an outstanding senior season for the Stags, recording career highs with 54 points, 44 goals, 40 groundballs, 39 draw controls and 29 caused turnovers in earning First-Team All-MAAC honors for the second consecutive season. The midfielder was a four-year All-MAAC performer as she earned Second-Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore after being tabbed to the All-Rookie Team as a freshman.
A two-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree while majoring in psychology, the Shoreham, NY native finished her career ranked eighth all-time in Fairfield history in points (167) and goals (125), first in game-winning goals (11), eighth in free-position goals (35), 10th in assists (42), and ninth in games started (64).
In addition to her stellar playing career, Fehmel has spent the last four summers serving as head coach for a pair of teams affiliated with the Long Island Top Guns Lacrosse Club, in addition to serving as a coach for the WestPort (CT) Girls Lacrosse Clinic each of the past two years.
In addition to her coaching duties, Fehmel is pursuing a Master's Degree during her time on Grymes Hill.
