Sophomore Season (2025-26): Specializing in distance, McLaughlin placed 3rd in the 1000-yard freestyle at the Iona-Scared Heart tri-meet... Placed 1st in both the 200-yad butterfly and the 500-yard freestyle at the Southern Connecticut-CCSU tri-meet, and placed 2nd in the 200-yard freestyle... Shaved almost 20 seconds off his 1000-yard freestyle time against LIU, placing 2nd in the event... Placed 1st in both the 500-yard and 1650-yard freestyle events at the Harold Anderson Invitational.

Freshman Season (2024-25): Made his collegiate debut at the Iona-Sacred Heart tri-meet, where he placed 3rd in the 1000-yard freestyle... Placed 1st in the 500-yard freestyle at the Southern Connecticut-CCSU tri-meet... Placed 4th in the 500-yard freestyle at the Harold Anderson Invite, helping the Seahawks win the three-day event... Swam a 9:54.87 in the 1000-yard freestyle against Binghamton, his fastest time 1000-yard time of the season... Reached three podiums at the NEC Championships, placing 2nd in the 500-yard and 1650-yard freestyles, and 3rd in the 400-yard individual medley... Named NEC Rookie of the week on January 22.

Before Wagner: Was named a national open water champion; Competed at the British Olympic trials ahead of the 2024 Paris Games.
