Joel Javan begins his first season as the head coach of the Wagner men’s and women’s tennis teams.
Prior to his duties with the Seahawks, he has served as a tennis instructor and coach at the Fort Lee (NJ) Racquet Club since March of 2007 and as a tennis instructor at the CS Tennis Academy in Fort Lee, NJ since December of 2006.
At the Fort Lee Racquet Club, he is responsible for tennis instruction to juniors and adults in clinics, semi-privates and privates while developing and organizing lesson plans and drills for all players.
Javan has also coached and advised United States Tennis Association (USTA) adult league team members to national tournaments while assisting in summer camp coordination, clinics and demonstrations.
A multi-faceted individual, he has also worked at Radio City Music Hall and the Red Cross while helping provide aid for the families and victims of the tragic 9/11 terrorist attacks.
A 1998 graduate of Rutgers-Newark, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing/Business Administration.
Javan is an active USTA member as well as a United State Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) member and resides in West New York, NJ.
