Jason Sinkoff

Jason Sinkoff  was named head coach of the men's tennis program on August 3. Sinkoff recently completed a three-year stint at San Diego Mesa where he served as assistant coach for both the men's and women's tennis programs in addition to being the Director of Operations for the women's basketball team.  

During his first two years with the men's tennis team, Sinkoff led the Olympians to the Final Four and Elite 8 finishes, as well as two conference titles. As an assistant coach at San Diego Mesa, his responsibilities included the creation of conditioning routines and designed workout regimens, updating and maintaining recruiting databases, and assisting players during matches with in-game strategies. He also coached two student-athletes that attained All-American status and had multiple players' win Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) singles and doubles titles.
 
In addition to his role with San Diego Mesa, Sinkoff served as assistant Program Director and head tennis coach at the JCC Maccabi Sports Camp, a camp that he himself attended when he was younger. 
 
In 2014, Sinkoff served as Director of Tennis and head tennis pro for Camp Horseshoe in Rhinelander, WI.  At Camp Horseshoe, Sinkoff designed tennis programs for over 200 children ages 8-17 for the entire Summer Tennis Camp while supervising tennis coaches to ensure they were engaging and helping the campers in a positive manner.
 
Sinkoff began his coaching career in 2009 when he served as the assistant coach for the boy's tennis team at his alma mater, Torrey Pines High School. In this role, he led the team to the Palomar North County Conference and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Division I Titles, while helping to develop several student-athletes who went on to compete at the collegiate level at UC Santa Barbara, Princeton, the University of Arizona, UC Santa Cruz, UC Davis, UC San Diego and Pomona College. 
 
As a student at Torrey Pines, Sinkoff was named a two-time San Diego Union-Tribune Scholar-Athlete while also garnering All-City and All-Palomar League First Team honors during his senior year. He attended Palomar College, where he played No. 1 singles and doubles for the Comets and was voted team captain and freshmen Most Valuable Player while obtaining a 4.0 GPA. 
 
Sinkoff transferred to Hofstra University where he finished his final three years, playing No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles and No. 2, and No. 3 doubles. Sinkoff was named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete, Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Commissioner's Academic Award recipient and senior Most Valuable Player.  He graduated in 2012 with a BBA in Marketing and a minor in Management. 
 
Sinkoff has also represented the state of California and his country in the Maccabi Games in 2003, 2004 and in 2011.  In 2003, he won the silver medal in doubles in Houston, TX at the Junior Maccabi Games and in 2004 in Boston, MA, he won the doubles gold medal in the Junior Maccabi Games.  In 2011, at the Sydney Australian International Maccabi games, he claimed a bronze medal in doubles.
