Malia Josephson enters her first season as an assistant coach for both Wagner water polo programs in 2022.
The Mount Maunganui, New Zealand native spent the last five years on Grymes Hill as a member of the Wagner women's water polo program. As the captain of the 2022 Seahawks, Josephson was named an Association of College Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Honorable Mention All-American along with being named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Second Team.
In her final season in the pool for Wagner, Josephson helped guide the Seahawks to the best season in program history as Wagner captured it's seventh MAAC title in the last nine years and a perfect mark in conference play during the regular season. The Seahawks ended the season with a 34-5 record, the most victories in a single season in program history. Wagner also tallied 18 consecutive victories, the most in program history while making claiming the third NCAA Tournament victory in program history.
Individually, Josephson finished her illustrious Seahawk career with 127 appearances, 436 shots, 202 goals, 180 assists, 127 steals, 46 field blocks, and 138 drawn exclusions. Josephson made her mark on the Seahawk record book as she finishes her career third in field blocks, sixth in assists, and eighth in exclusions drawn.

Josephson will be pursuing a Master's of Business Administration at Wagner.
