2020-21 (Junior Season): Crossed the finish line first at the 2020-21 Northeast Conference (NEC) Cross Country Championships (Feb. 28), with a personal-best time of 24:28.7... Earned the NEC's automatic qualifier and will have a chance to compete at the 2020-21 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on March 15, 2021 at the Oklahoma State University Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
2019 (Sophomore Season): Ran in six meets… Had three top-three finishes... Was the runner-up at the 2019 Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships (Nov. 2), crossing the finish line in 25:20.5 in the 8K race.... Competed in his first NCAA Division I Northeast Region Cross Country Championship (Nov. 15), placing among the top-50 with a time of 29:49.1 in the 10K event.
2018 (Freshman Season): Raced in six meets for the Seahawks... Was Wagner's top finisher in three meets... Crossed the finish line first at the NEC Cross Country Championships (10/27) with a time of 25:45.6... In doing so, he became the first harrier to win both NEC Outstanding Performer and NEC Rookie of the Year since Rogers Kipruot (Long Island University) do so in 2009.

Holds the Iceland national record for the U-17 in the 1500m and 1000m for the U-19. Additionally, his multiple accolades in the U-18 800m held up for nearly nine years before being broken.... A two-time representative in the U-20 Nordic Championships and has participated at the 2017 Reykjavik International Games, Thorsteins has captured an indoor and outdoor title in both the 800m (1:55.11) and 1500m (4:00.06). Thorsteins competed at the 2017 World Youth Games where he placed ninth in the 800m with a time of 1:57.58. On June 7, 2017, at the Oslo Boysen Memorial, Thorsteins posted a finals time in the 800m at 1:55.11.
