Wagner College Athletics

A consummate student-athlete, who led the Seahawks in tackles in while holding a 3.85 GPA in Business Administration, Trevor Loveland was among 43 student-athletes from across the nation named to the 16^th annual Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team in Jan. This marked the second major honor for Loveland as he had previously been named to the 2013 NCAA Division I Capital One Academic All-District Football First Team. After graduating from Wagner in May with a 3.876 GPA in business administration, Loveland took home the Male ECAC Merit Award, bestowed to the graduating male senior student-athletes with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA). He also earned the Wagner Male Con Edison Scholar-Athlete Award, given to the male student-athlete who demonstrates the values of courtesy, concern, teamwork, honesty, and respect. This fall, Loveland will begin pursuing his MBA.

2013: Registered a team-best 69 tackles who also registered a team-best 12.0 tackles for loss for minus 33 yards ... Recorded three sacks for minus 12 yards …. Credited with two forced fumbles, one pass breakup and one blocked kick … Started all 11 games … Recorded career-high 10 tackles on Homecoming vs. Bryant (9/28), earning the Lia Memorial Defensive MVP Award… Followed that game with an eight-tackle performance against Monmouth (11/9) … Registered  five tackles and forced a fumble vs. Merrimack (9/6) … Named the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year at the team’s annual awards banquet in February … Named to the 2013 NEC Commissioner’s Honor Roll (3.75 GPA or higher).

2012: After seeing playing time as a true freshman at tight end in 2011, was switched to outside linebacker in the offseason … Went  on to appear in all 13 games in the 2012 season, starting in one … Recorded 21 tackles on the year in helping the Seahawks earn the first NEC Football Title in school history… Credited with multiple tackles in five games, with four-tackle contests against Monmouth (9/15) and Eastern Washington (12/1) … Earned a spot on the 2012 NEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

2011:  Mid-year transfer who took part in Spring Practice 2011... One of just 10 true freshmen to see playing time last season … Saw action in seven games, primarily on special teams … Played a fair amount at at tight end, used often in two tight end sets.

Before Wagner:  Played for Coach Jim Scerbo at Cherry Hill West Was the Lions’ Offensive MVP … Earned All-Conference and Second-Team All-South Jersey ... Also played quarterback and defensive back ... Prepped one year at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, VA.
