Tom Masella announced the hiring of Stephen Matos as Seahawks' offensive coordinator prior to the 2023 season.
Matos arrived on Grymes Hill after most recently serving as a senior offensive analyst for head coach Lance Leipold at Kansas.
Prior to his time with the Jayhawks, Matos worked under Leipold at Buffalo, where he worked as an offensive line and defensive line graduate assistant.
No stranger to the Northeast Conference (NEC), Matos coached tight ends at Sacred Heart during the 2018-19 season, instructing the tight ends in drill progression, technique and schemes.
Matos also spent time at Princeton as the offensive line quality control coach (2018), Monmouth as the offensive line quality control coach (2017-18) and Becker College as the offensive line coach/run game coordinator (2016-17).
Matos earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Rutgers Business School in 2013, before earning a Master of Science in Education from the University at Buffalo in 2020.
