John Rock joined the Wagner Football staff in the spring of 2022 following a successful career in professional football overseas.
The former Gardner Webb quarterback had stints with nine different teams in Europe and Australia between 2012 and 2020 as a quarterback and coach while also serving as a coach for several youth programs and overseeing various day-to-day operations.
On four occasions, Rock served as a player and coach while serving as the head coach of the Monash Warriors Gridiron in Melbourne, Australia in 2018 and exclusively playing quarterback on four different occasions.
A 2012 graduate of Gardner Webb, Rock was a team captain and starting quarterback while earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications.
Rock also holds a Master’s Degree from Minot State University, which he earned in 2017 after spending time as a graduate assistant wide receiver’s coach at Minot.
