David Fredrickson

A Staten Island native, David FredricksonĀ enters his fourth season as an assistant coach at his alma mater after serving as a mainstay, two-year captain, and eventual All-NEC center.

After earning the starting center spot in 2011 preseason camp, Fredrickson, a rare left-handed center, started all 46 games in his Seahawk career, playing an integral role on the 2012 and 2014 NEC Championship teams. In 2018, Fredrickson will coach Wagner’s running backs after previously tutoring the tight ends and tackles.

ā€œObviously everyone around here knows David. He started 40-plus straight games for us at the center position and was an All-NEC player,ā€ said Seahawk head coach Jason Houghtaling. ā€œHe has an energy and an enthusiasm about the game, he wants to be a football coach. We know what we’re going to get from him, which is what we want – high energy, high effort and someone who is accountable.ā€

Fredrickson originally attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, where he was a member of the football team, following a standout career at Poly Prep in Brooklyn where he played for Staten Island native and former NFL star Dino Mangiero.
