Chris Nugai

Chris Nugai completed his second season as the Seahawk's offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in 2021.
 
Nugai brings over 20 years of collegiate coaching experience to Grymes Hill, most recently serving as the offensive line coach at the University of New Haven.
 
The Chargers closed out 2019 with a 7-3 record and finished in a two-way tie for the best record in the Northeast-10 with Bentley. In 2018, Nugai's offense led the Chargers to the NE-10 championship and second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. Nugai joined the New Haven staff in 2014 as the Special Teams Coordinator before taking on the offensive line role in 2017.
 
Nugai's coaching resume includes extensive time in the Ivy League, coaching six seasons at Columbia (2006-2011) two seasons at Harvard (2003-2004), and one year at Yale (1995). In 2004, Harvard finished undefeated, was ranked 12th in the nation, and won the Ivy League Championship, as Nugai coached Clifton Dawson to All-America and All-Ivy League honors as the university's single-season rushing leader.

From 2012-2013, Nugai spent two seasons at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. where he was the tight end and fullback coach. He mentored All-Patriot League Second Team selection Alex Schneider who left Holy Cross as the Crusaders career leader in touchdown receptions for a tight end.

Nugai also has head coaching experience under his belt, leading NCAA Division III Fitchburg State in Massachusetts from 1996-97.

The Waterbury, Conn. native also spent time at the University of Connecticut, the University of Maine, Tufts University and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Nugai earned a B.A. in history/secondary education from Worcester State in 1992, and a master's in educational leadership and management from Fitchburg State in 2001.
